Pilot Plant based on AAS – Digitisation of the entire Production Life Cycle

Increasing efficiency in production by applying AAS as a digitisation reference for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Data acquisition, analysis and automation

Step by step to a complete digitisation

The Korean Ministry of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Startups has launched an Asset Administration Shell-based pilot plant project to investigate existing technologies and provide them as a reference. After testing and validating two pilot plants that acquired AAS standard-based operation data and stored it in the cloud, an AAS-based infrastructure for consistent data collection and analysis has been developed. In the final stage, this will be used to implement controlling and automation. A guideline as well as education program targeted at suppliers and users will lead to the implementation of solutions among SMEs and startups.

Benefit of the Asset Administration Shell

  • Standardisation over the entire life cycle
  • Consistent data and information exchange
  • Reduction of costs in planning, operation and maintenance
