From 20 to 24 April 2026 at the Hannover Messe, IDTA will demonstrate how the Asset Administration Shell (AAS), as a standardised Digital Twin, forms the basis for interoperable data exchange within industrial ecosystems. IDTA and IDSA are merging their expertise to bring industrial data exchange and the application of digital twins closer together in the future. The cooperation combines two central building blocks of the digital industry: While IDTA develops the standard for digital twins based on the Asset Administration Shell (AAS), IDSA addresses interaction in decentralised data spaces with the standardisation of the Dataspace Protocol.

buildingSMART Germany e. V. and Industrial Digital Twin Association (IDTA) signed a formal cooperation agreement at Light + Building, the leading international trade fair for lighting and building technology, on 11 March 2026. The partnership aims to bring together Building Information Modelling (BIM) and the Asset Administration Shell (AAS) as complementary technologies, thereby laying the foundation for seamless digital processes in the construction and real estate industries.
