Creating Digital Twins of assets

The onboarding of plants in the process industry is currently hardly automated and still requires a great deal of direct intervention. The end-to-end process, including the exchange of master data between the manufacturer and customer, is broken down into several steps, is hardly standardised and is proprietary to the respective scenario. In the future, the administration shell and its information model will support the exchange of master data and asset onboarding. The Digital Twin created in this way simplifies the process considerably and minimises errors.

Function of the asset administration shell

Creating the Digital Twin in a single step

Increased automation

The AAS makes asset onboarding a (semi)automatic process.

Standardised exchange

Onboarding entails a standardised exchange of master data between the manufacturer and customer that takes place on the basis of the AAS.

Relevant master data integrated

The onboarding of an asset results in a Digital Twin as AAS, which is enriched with all relevant master data of the manufacturer.
