Join IDTA, International Data Spaces Association (IDSA) and Fraunhofer IESE on 12th March 2026 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany to the Data Spaces Kickstart Event, to learn how industry, data spaces enable information to flow securely and sovereignly across company boundaries.

Industrial Digital Twin Association (IDTA) and ZVEI want to rapidly advance the adoption of the Asset Administration Shell (AAS) in industry. Both organisations have launched an industry-wide initiative to this end. 75 companies from electrical and digital industries are already supporting the project and have declared their intention to integrate the AAS into their technologies and products within approximately twelve months.

At the trade fair for the automation industry, SPS from 25 to 27 November 2025 in Nuremberg, IDTA will inform visitors about how the AAS enables structured and interoperable data exchange along the entire value chain. In Hall 5, Stand 358, IDTA, together with partners from the industry, will demonstrate how asset data is described and connected in a secure data space and how this creates a consistent, secure and connected data ecosystem.

The digital twin of a machine is created in the software systems (ECAD, MCAD, etc.) of all companies involved in the process using digital and physical components from countless manufacturers.

IDTA publishes version 3.0 of the specification of the information model of the Asset Administration Shell (AAS), which is the foundation for the standardised Digital Twin in the industry. In four parts, the specification describes how companies can compile and structure information in the Asset Administration Shell.
