IDTA presents growing ecosystem all around the Digital Twin at Hannover Messe 2023

41 demonstrators show the use of the Asset Administration Shell over the entire product life cycle

The Industrial Digital Twin Association e.V. (IDTA) will be exhibiting at the Hannover Messe from 17 to 21 April 2023. Visitors will obtain information about the standardised Digital Twin based on the Asset Administration Shell (AAS) at the IDTA booth. The AAS provides information along the life cycle of a product, a plant or machine or the entire factory in a standardised and demand-oriented manner and thus enables time and cost savings and, for example, compliance with sustainability targets. IDTA will be present at the joint stand of Plattform Industrie 4.0 alongside Manufacturing-X, Catena-X, Gaia-X and other exhibitors in hall 8 stand number D26.

Four demonstrators at the IDTA stand show the various functionalities of the AAS. IDTA and Harting, together with the software solutions of partners Microsoft, SAP and Siemens, will demonstrate how the AAS allows access to product, engineering and operational data over the entire life cycle of a connector with active additional functions. A demonstrator from Volkswagen, Siemens, MHP and EKS InTec will show how the various processes of automotive production can be simplified and accelerated with the help of the AAS. In addition, a showcase from ZVEI e.V. and a demonstrator from Otto von Guerricke University Magdeburg will show two different use cases for the intelligent networking of products and the automated exchange of product information using the AAS.

Numerous further exhibits at the Hannover Messe show the customised use of the Digital Twin in different phases of the life cycle of an asset. IDTA’s AAS Guide leads to 41 exponates and their exhibitors, showcasing a wide variety of tools and applications from the growing ecosystem using AAS. The AAS Guide will be handed out in printed version at the IDTA stand and is available as a digital version in advance here.

In addition, experts inform and discuss about the Digital Twin and the Asset Administration Shell in various lectures at the Industry 4.0 Conference Stage in hall 8. An overview of the related agenda can also be found in the AAS Guide.

Deutsche Messe AG is also offering a guided tour of the trade fair highlights on the subject “Digital Twin/AAS: How can information across the value chain be made easily usable?”, organised in cooperation with IDTA. The approximately two-hour trade fair tour will be conducted both for visitors on site or digitally via livestream and can be booked on the website of the Hannover Messe.
