Automating the exchange of information with the Digital Twin

The onboarding of plants in the process industry is currently hardly automated and still requires a great deal of direct intervention. The end-to-end process, including the exchange of master data between the manufacturer and customer, is broken down into several steps, hardly standardised and proprietary to the respective scenario. In the future, the Asset Administration Shell and its information model will support the exchange of master data and asset onboarding. The Digital Twin created in this way simplifies the process considerably and minimises errors.
