IDTA presents the successes of AAS at Hannover Messe 2022

Best practice for the implementation of the digital twin

The Industrial Digital Twin Association e.V. (IDTA) will exhibit and inform about the current developments for the technical implementation of the Asset Administration Shell (AAS) as a digital twin at the Hannover Messe from 30 May to 2 June 2022. IDTA will be on the shared stand of Plattform Industrie 4.0 alongside Catena-X, Gaia-X and other exhibitors in hall 8 stand number D24.

AAS in practical use will be demonstrated by 24 exhibits at this year’s Hannover Messe. IDTA’s AAS Guide leads to numerous exhibitors who show a wide variety of solutions and the flexible possibilities of the digital twin. Three of the exhibits will be displayed at the IDTA stand. The “AAS Service Order” demonstrator from VDMA and IDTA shows how standardised service tickets are generated from the operating data of components in the manufacturing cell. “AAS Energy Monitoring”, by Volkswagen and Siemens with four other partners, demonstrates how digital twins record live energy data from an engine and enable device replacement with the help of AAS and its standardised sub-models without time-consuming engineering. Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg will exhibit a demonstrator from the “AAS networked” project at the IDTA stand, which tests Asset Administration Shells for interoperability in various use cases. The demonstrator shows the “Production as a service” model in a cross-company scenario.

Furthermore, experts will inform and discuss about the Digital Twin and the Asset Administration Shell in numerous lectures at the Industrie 4.0 Conference Stage. The AAS Guide provides a compact overview of the topic-related events.
