3 questions to the new board member Daniel Lindemann

Daniel Lindemann, Senior Vice President Systems & Solutions at Lenze, has been appointed to the IDTA board. In a short interview, he talks about his experience in the field of Digital Twins and automation and his ambitions for his new role.

What is your professional background and how does your work overlap with the Digital Twin?

As a passionate industrialist, I began my career with a strong focus on innovation and development management, driven by curiosity and a desire to shape the future of industrial technology. Over time, my path led me to programme management in the automotive industry, where I coordinated complex initiatives at the interface of engineering, agility and customer value. On this basis, I moved into the automation environment at Lenze and focused on portfolio management and corporate strategy. Here, I connect market needs with technological possibilities and align strategic goals with operational implementation, working closely with customers. Given this background, future-proof, standardised connectivity is essential for the industry.

What activities of the Asset Administration Shell (AAS)/IDTA have you been involved in so far?

My goal is to combine strategic vision with technical feasibility: to bring Lenze’s comprehensive expertise in drive technology and components to a collaborative ecosystem that enables scalable, sustainable and future-proof solutions. Through this commitment, we want to strengthen our role as a trusted partner in the digital transformation of industry – by turning complexity into connectivity. In this context, I have been particularly active on the subject of the AAS.

Why is an initiative at IDTA important?

I see IDTA as a strategic opportunity to actively shape the future of industrial automation. Lenze stands for openness, modularity and customer-oriented innovation – values that fit perfectly with IDTA’s mission to establish interoperable standards for Digital Twins. In line with this, my management narrative is ‘networking’ – connecting people, ideas and systems to make a meaningful contribution along the entire value chain.
